Drogba's journey as a footballer.(Assignment)

Everyone knows that football brings people together. It has a togetherness spirit. It's even better when your favorite football team has your favorite football player.

Former captain of the Ivory Coast national team, born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Didier Drogba didn't have it all as a kid. His parents moved around quite often. His parents both lost their job, forcing him to move to his uncle, Michael Goba, in France when he was just 5 years old. But this surely didn't stop the small boy Drogba to quit on his dream of being a international football player. He however didn't stay long with his uncle as he got home sick and had returned back to his parents. Things seemed to be okay, but his parents lost their jobs for the second time.  And so he had to move back with his uncle again.

Of course Drogba had to work his way up. His performances earned him a place in the senior squad. Drogba got a once in a lifetime opportunity, one not many are lucky to encounter. He has rubbed shoulders with the best- Lional Messi. He has been on many adverts from food adverts to beverages. He has joined Messi to be a brand embassador to an airline. I am sure that Drogba always dreamt of playing for an international football team, but he never really imagined it a reality.

This was only a mere dream, I am sure about this. It took a lot of hard work and sacrifices to have had played for Chelsea. I believe that Drogba inspired so many young people to dream big. He gave hope to many, when he was signed for Chelsea in July 2004 for $24 million.

All goo things must come to an end at some point. Drogba retired from playing football.

He said in an interview : "if anyone tells you that your dream too big, just say thank you and and work harder and smarter to turn them into reality.

A small town boy, born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, strived for his dreams, worked even harder and smarter to reach his dream and made it a reality.
